The Gift Of Salvation

"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotton Son,that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condem the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."

John 3:16-17 KJV

A long time ago, God gave the world the most wonderful gift that we could ever hope to receive. He sent His son, Jesus, to this earth to be born and to live among us. It was a humble event largely unoticed by man. Just as God planned it. His simple birth in a stable shows us that God understands just how frail we as humans can be. But this gift was no simple gesture. God showed us just how perfect His plan is for our lives as His children. Through the birth of a small child, God opened the door to forgiveness and enternity with Him.

While here on earth, Jesus was sent to be a teacher to all of mankind. He was God in the flesh and God wanted to make sure that His message was taught so that it would be a guide for all of the generations to come. Jesus also came to serve. He didn't live His live as a royal king. He lived it as a servant to man. He healed, He fed, He even washed the feet of the disciples as a lesson to all of us that we are to serve each other.

But the ultimate destiny of Jesus was to give His own life for you and for me. He was judged by man. Beaten without mercy. And had His feet and hands pierced with spikes like nails and hung on a cross in humiliation for all of the world to see.

Why?

Because He gave the ulitmate sacrifice that anyone could give. His life. He shed His blood so that all men, women and children could be forgiven of their sins. He died a brutal death, more horrible than any of us can imagine, so that man could be forgiven and come to know the Father in Heaven in a way like never before. By this one act of selflessness, we are given the opportunity to serve God with our whole lives and hearts and are given the chance to live with Him in eternity forever.

Still today, even with this sacrifice, millions of people continue to nail Jesus to the cross by denying Him and living a life in willful sin. We think that we don't need God in our lives. We are so selfish in our nature that we want things the way WE want them. Yet even as we continue to sin and deny Christ, He still loves us and willingly offers us the salvation that He so sweetly gives.

Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave. After being laid to rest for three days, He rose again and went to heaven. By doing this, he showed death that it cannot hold him and that it cannot hold man, if they accept Christ.

All it takes is believing in Christ. The steps are simple. So simple that they are offered freely to every human alive. Just open your heart and pray to Him. Admit that you are a sinner and that you haven't allowed Him to be your Saviour. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life.

Once you do this, then Jesus will pour His spirit into your life. The Holy Spirit will come into your life and will lead and guide you. It's the best decision that you will ever make.

And once you do this, make it a promise to Him and to yourself that you will live the remainder of your life for Him.

Once you take this life alterning step, you are assured life with Christ forever in eternity. All those who are saved by the cleaning blood of Jesus are promised a home in paradise one day. One thing is for certain in this life. We are all born and we are all doing to die.

For those who accept the forgiveness and life that Jesus offers, when they pass on, they will go to be with Him forever. A life that will never again end. No more pain, no more fear. No more tears, no more sorrow. Those who accept this gift will be in the presence of God every single day for the rest of eternity. Man cannot begin to concept the wonderful things that will be offered in Heaven. You will live and reign with Christ forever.

For those who refuse this gift, there is an end for them as well. It will be a life of eternity spent in hell, cut off forever from the presence of God and from ever having a chance to change the decision that they made here while on this earth.

So what will your decision be today? Will you continue to deny Christ and live a life without Him? Or Will you open your heart to Him and allow Him to forgive you of your sins and be the Saviour of your life?

There is going to come a day when Jesus will come back to take His children home with Him. It could happen at any time. For those that are not saved, it will be a terrible time on this earth. And they will have to endure it for seven full years until the final homecoming of Christ and the redeemed.

If you are reading this, it's not too late to give your life to Christ. Just pray the simple prayer below and invite Jesus into your heart.

"Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I have lived my life in denial of you. I know that I have done wrong and that I need forgiveness for my sins. Please forgive me of those sins and wash me clean. Come in to my heart now and live as the Lord of my Life. I give my life to you and will believe in you and follow you. Thank you Jesus and I pray this in your Holy name, Amen."

If you took that step, congratulations, you just got saved and became a Christian. If you need for me to pray for you, please don't hesistate to write and ask. Scutterbear@aol.com
